Feeling good

My Brightest Diamond is a chamber pop band led by singer-songwriter Shara Worden, which was formed in New York City, NY, USA (2006).

Worden is the grand-daughter of an Epiphone-playing traveling evangelist; her father was a National Accordion Champion and her mother a classical organist. Having a family of wanderers who migrated across the U.S. every few years, the landscape and the musical influences were constantly changing: Spanish tangos, Sunday morning gospel, classical and jazz were the accompaniment to her home life.

Uma boa versão! But the best still is Nina's song.

Je suis bien

A única pessoa para quem Jacques Brel compôs. Pelos idos de 90, ouvi-a na Aula Magna, numa gala de homenagem a Brel. Belíssima Gréco! Esta canção___ Brel também cantou mas nunca a gravou.

Chanteuse Juliette Gréco, muse of the 1950s existentialists of Montmartre, was the first to bring the talent of Jacques Brel before the French public with her cover of Brel's "Ca Va, Le Diable." "Je Suis Bien" is a moody, somewhat ironic song Brel wrote for her to perform. He never recorded it himself. Following Gréco's version is a rare live performance by Brel from his last tour of French Equatorial Africa in 1966. He appears to have just written the song, or maybe didn't remember the words. The music was written by Brel's collaborator Gérard Jouannest who is still alive and married to Juliette Gréco.

Ainda a pensar na poesia-denúncia de Laurie Anderson no espectáculo que vi no TA: Another Day in America, "histórias de Laurie Anderson sobre a vida na América contemporânea".

Uma (micro)história:
Desesperadamente à procura de inimigos que nunca mais chegavam, os EUA tornaram-se o seu próprio inimigo. Já não há um país, há um campo de batalha. Os campos de batalha têm leis próprias. A lei mais importante foi aprovada no final de 2011 pelo senado: é permitida a prisão por tempo indefinido.

Outra (micro)história:
As pessoas podem viver em casas que têm pianos brancos e cães que tocam piano. As pessoas podem não ter nada. Os que nada têm, normalmente já tiveram: uma casa sem pianos brancos e um trabalho.mas perderam tudo. Quando isso acontece, saiem das cidades e vão viver para florestas. Laurie tinha ouvido falar dessas pessoas e um dia decidiu visitá-las. Perto de Nova Iorque, mais precisamente em New Jersey. Chegou e disse Olá mas ninguém respondia. Enfim, acabou por aparecer uma mulher, uma assistente social que vivia naquele campo há cinco anos. Chorava muito. Laurie viu centenas de famílias que viviam em tendas na floresta.como há muitos anos atrás, antes de haver cidades.

Antes destas histórias, Laurie quis saber por que razão o nosso planeta se chama Terra. Não é um nome particularmente bonito. Sugeriu outros nomes. Um deles pareceu-me perfeito: planeta Lama.
